CHICKEN DINNER ON MAY 17 TO HELP ANDREWS GREAT-GRANDMOTHER

Connie Jo Needs Help to Survive Liver Disease

ANDREWS, S.C.—On Friday, May 17 at noon at Pentecostal Holiness Church (Family Life Center, 8285 Saints Delight Road in Andrews) enjoy a Dinner Sale fundraiser for a special cause. Proceeds from your purchase of a chicken pilaf and fixings plate will help offset the medical expenses of Andrews resident Connie Jo Lambert, who is in desperate need of a liver transplant.

Connie Jo has spent years living with the challenges of liver disease. Recently, her condition has advanced to erase her quality of life: she experiences confusion daily, and her liver disease exacerbates her diabetes and fibromyalgia for a perfect storm of discomfort. The mother of 2, grandmother of 4, and great-grandmother of 1 “has always been a source of kindness, love, and help to all who know her,” explained her loving husband. “She has always been extremely active in her church groups. She continues to faithfully attend church as much as she can.”

While a liver transplant will give Connie Jo a new lease on life, the associated costs are a shocking burden. With limited personal means, her family is facing out-of-pocket expenses including medication, temporary relocation when the transplant occurs, and a five-hour trip to and from the hospital where Connie Jo’s pre-transplant care and transplant will take place. To help with these costs, Connie Jo has been #forcedtofundraise. She is fundraising with the medical fundraising nonprofit Help Hope Live at helphopelive.org.

Enjoy your chicken pilaf with fixings on Friday, May 17 for just $8 per plate. Can’t make it? You can make a donation at any time or leave a message of support for Connie Jo by visiting helphopelive.org or calling 800.642.8399. Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law, and all funds raised will be used to offset medical expenses via Help Hope Live’s South-Atlantic Transplant Fund.

Help Hope Live is a national nonprofit that specializes in engaging communities in fundraising campaigns for people who need a transplant or are affected by a catastrophic injury or illness. Since 1983, campaigns organized by Help Hope Live have raised over $135 million to pay patient expenses.
